THIS WEEK WITH PAVING ASSOCIATES

STATEN ISLAND, NY −Paving Associates wins Pavement Maintenance Reconstruction Magazine Award for Paving. In August of 2015, Paving Associates began making safety alterations for the South Hills Mall in Poughkeepsie, NY. The team had the tough job of reducing an existing slope of 22% to 5% without adjusting any curbs, light poles or any other structures with existing elevations. This week we headed to Charlotte, North Carolina to accept the honorable award for all our hard work. This award is symbolic of our teamwork, work ethic and expertise in the industry. While some of us were accepting our award in North Carolina others stayed back to maintain our snow locations across New York and New Jersey. This week entailed continuous visits to the property’s making sure the area was salted....

2016 Blizzard

STATEN ISLAND, NY – The tri- state area experienced its record-breaking snowstorm, leaving behind 28-inches of snow on the ground. The National Weather Service issued a blizzard watch, leaving New York City, Long Island and portions of New Jersey expecting up to 12 inches of snow and 50 mph wind gusts, leaving resident and property owners wondering how they would manage their property. Paving Associates moves snow into neat piles in Queens, NY at The Metro Mall. It’s important for a property owner to take the steps to ensure that pedestrians and consumers will be safe in the area. If a visitor slips and falls due to accumulation of ice and snow on a property, the owner holds responsibility. According to the NYC Snow or Ice on Sidewalks Report a property owner has 4 hours to clear sidewalks if snow stops falling between the times of 7am and 5pm or face a fine. Paving Associates is set to help more than 16 locations across Staten Island and New Jersey to manage and maintain a safe environment this winter season. Paving Associates prepared for what the weather reports predicted to be 8-10 inches of snow. Over a 24-hour period, New York was hit with over 28 inches of snow, creating a record for a large amount of snowfall in such a small amount of time. This change had no influence on the services provided for properties under Paving Associates care. Our 24- hour on call staff that was split up into groups to better service each location skillfully. Snow removal services include salting the area with the best de-icing products...

Happy Thanksgiving!

Paving Associates would like to wish you all a very happy Thanksgiving. We thank you for your continued support in our company, and for taking the time to read our newsletters, blogs, and to watch our videos. Along with the holidays come unbearable weather conditions. We want to make sure that your company is on the path to being prepared for any obstacles this season may bring. With that being said, there are a few questions you should ask yourself about your company before you begin the holiday’s festivities. Is your company or organization aware of the risks associated with snow and ice? Do you have a plan in place to prevent and mitigate cold weather slip, trip, and fall losses? It is important that you hire a contractor that will ensure walking surfaces are being monitored throughout the day as temperatures drop and ice develops. Many contractors will monitor your establishment’s parking lot and forget important areas such as sidewalks, walkways and staircases. Don’t risk being sued for injuries that happen on your property. Paving Associates has a 24-hour crew available for any storms that occur. We are fortunate enough to own our own equipment to fulfill all of our snow services. To receive special offers, contact us TODAY, to sign a snow removal...

Out With the OLD, In With the NEW!

We live during a time when technology is upgraded everyday, making it difficult to keep up with products and all its new features. Paving Associates is always ahead of the game with any updated equipment released in the industry. Recently, we upgraded to a new paver, The Carlson CP-100, which made its debut appearance July 20, 2015, during a job for Richmond Avenues Stop & Shop (Pergament Enterprises Mall)in Staten Island, NY! The Black and Gold monster had no trouble fitting in with the rest of our custom black and gold equipment. With all its new features including its 2- man set up, material distribution, user friendly control and size itself, we were able to easily get the job done. We were able to cover a large amount of square feet , which probably would’ve taken longer compared to our old Carlson CP- 90. The team was over joyed to be able to use such an updated piece of equipment rather than using a machine that leaves the feeling of being stuck in time. While business is blooming, we are always on a mission to find new equipment that will help our team to perform at a faster pace and deliver quality service as well. Perfect for snowplows, municipal dump trucks, mixers, refuse trucks and crane trucks, we have brought a brand new Kentworth T800 dump truck on to the scene! For those who aren’t familiar a dump truck is used to transfer materials such as dirt, gravel and stone. The T800 has one of the tightest turning radiuses and allows for many weight-saving options to help boost usable payload....
